Mountain biking in Orange County is primarily where I ride. I ride in places such as Whiting Ranch, O'Neill Park, Saddleback Mountain, The Main Divide, Trabuco Canyon, Caspers Park near Ortega Hwy, Modjeska Canyon, The Luge, Old Camp, Harding Truck Trail, Silverado Canyon, Maple Springs, Black Star Canyon, Beeks Place, Chino Hills and El Morro in Laguna Beach.
I've been riding bicycles since I was 5 years old. I've done some big road rides. For example, when I was in Junior High, I rode from Los Angeles to San Diego and back a few times. In High School, the rides got bigger. I rode from San Francisco to Los Angeles 3 times.
Today, I ride a Specialized Stumpjumper 29er full suspension mountain bike. It pretty much rolls over almost anything. I'm an avid mountain biker. I usually ride 4 days per week consistently throughout the year. I've mountain biked in California, Utah and Idaho. Most of the time, I'm accompanied by my biking buddys.
A couple of times a year, I participate in mountain biking events such as The Toad Festival Ride and the Project Rwanda 50 Miler. These are charity rides that occur in South Orange County annually.
The Toad Ride is a 27+ mile course up Saddleback Mountain, across the Main Divide and down Trabuco Canyon. There's a lot of climbing and descending on single track trails.
The Project Rwanda 50 Miler starts at Cook's Corner and traverses through O'Neill Park out to Caspers Park and down through the Arroyo Trabuco Canyon in Mission Viejo and back to Cook's Corner.
