Just want to thank you. I am back from my trip and yes, like you said, they would have charged me with a "not in use" fee should I have had an accident and the car had to go to the shop. I was able to pay 1/2 of the normal insurance fee (per day) to waive this. It all worked out :)

(Yolanda asked if her current auto policy would cover a rental car while she was on a trip. The answer is yes. Your existing coverages on your auto policy transfer to the rental car.
However, I advised her that if her rental car got into an accident and was unrentable by the rental car agency because the vehicle was undergoing repairs in the shop that her current car policy would not provide any coverage for the down time. The car rental agency may charge you for the down time. That can add up fast.
Often times credit card companies provide coverage during the "not in use" period. Also, check with the car rental agency and purchase their "not in use" coverage to gain peace of mind).

Michelle called our office to find out if she had coverage for a missing earring. She was thrilled to learn that her earrings were "scheduled" on her homeowner's policy and not subject to her policy deductible in the event of a loss. She saved $2,500 by not having to pay her deductible!! Tim

I have not heard from you since my last email inquiring on you are doing after the accident. Let me know that you are okay.
I have concerns because I have been told by many people that Mercury Insurance has a history of canceling customers after accidents, whether it is their fault or not. If they do not treat you right and give you a hard time I recommend that you change to Allied Insurance. I have never in my entire life had a better agent or such great service. I have house insurance, rental structure insurance, liability, umbrella and car insurance with Tim at Shorr Insurance Agency. He's wonderful at explaining things so you can understand and was very patient and helpful under my barrage of questions and concerns.
In addition he not only discovered that Fireman's Fund owed me money but he spent a lot of time and effort to not only assure that I received my money from them but that they removed the bad mark on my credit report. I have called him for advise to assure that filming agency had proper insurance to film on property and a lot of other things. He not only has a quick response but he even replied to me within 20 minutes when he was in Hawaii on vacation.
So if you have any problems with Mercury, I suggest that you email Tim and see what he could do for you. I have ALLIED insurance (rates excellent) through Tim.

Hi Jim,
I heard that you are looking for car insurance with State Farm. I just dropped State Farm they are way too expensive and the service is not great.
I highly recommend Tim Shorr whom I now have ALLIED car and house insurance. ALLIED rates very well, Tim is the most responsive and helpful agent I have ever had, they have road side service available so you don't have to purchase outside Auto Club.
I saved a lot of money and have better coverage including earthquake which I never had before. A friend of mine who is a retired insurance agent was very happy with the care Tim gave to my policy. He really meets your needs and explains everything to you very well.
