Deductible: A deductible is the annual amount a member must pay before the health plan begins to pay benefits.

Co-payment: A co-pay is a specified dollar amount that a member must pay out-of-pocket for service at the time the service is rendered.

Co-insurance: A co-insurance is a predetermined ratio of healthcare expenses for which the patient is responsible.

Seniors 65 and over: Medicare Supplements
Open Enrollment period: October 15th - December 7th.
If you're turning age 65, you can apply for a medicare supplement. A medicare supplement provides additional coverage beyond the standard Medicare coverage.
You can apply 3 months prior to and up to 3 months after your birthday. By doing so, it's guaranteed enrollment. You must be age 65 or over and have Medicare Parts A & B to qualify. Part A is Hospital Insurance and Part B is Medical Insurance.
If you are over 65 and already have a medicare supplement plan, you can switch to a new plan during the annual Open Enrollment period.
